New SmartStart Class Begins

A new SmartStart class began last week, with four new teams ready to turn their ideas into businesses. Three teams are made up of Michigan Tech students (a mix of grad and undergrad)  and one is a member of the community.

The class began with an overview of what to expect over the next 6-7 weeks. Next, each team had to draw their idea out on paper (pictured above). This process gets entrepreneurs thinking about how to articulate their idea.

By the end of the class, each team will have developed a full pitch deck that’s ready to be presented to the community for feedback.

If you or someone you know has a business idea and doesn’t know where to start, we can help you get started. Ideas do not have to be technology related and everyone is welcome to apply.
