When Delano Bat Company opened sales for the first time in December 2025, the response was more than what anyone could have imagined. The flagship limited release of their Original GamerTM BBCOR bat sold out in just 90 minutes and again sold out just a month later. These significant milestone reflects more than just the loyalty of Delano’s supporters, but also the culmination of years of relentless work to perfect their product.
For co-founders Logan Benda and Peter Kruse, the fast sell-out was both validating and humbling.
“We’ve always internally believed that our technology can redefine baseball bats. To have the market response like we’ve seen in our first two launches was very re-encouraging to the growth of our brand. We are looking forward on continuing to provide the absolute best performing bats to players of all ages engineered and built right here in America.”
This past year was filled with many challenges for the startup. Countless hours were spent on new product adjustments, manufacturing problems, design iterations and certification testing. Despite all these roadblocks, cutting corners was never an option. Instead, the company chose to focus on its unwavering principles: quality, performance, and innovation.
The team took durability feedback seriously, refining their product to fix design issues while also maintaining high performance. Their commitment paid off with re-certification at maximum BBCOR standards, even as they continued innovating with their FZN Composite CoreTMtechnology.
Along the way, elite players and major baseball influencers helped shape the product. Prototypes found their way into the hands of former MLB players, collegiate athletes, hitting houses, retailers, and entrepreneurial communities. Through hands-on testing and feedback, these resources gave Delano’s team invaluable insight and exposure.
Behind all the product evolution was meaningful growth on the operations side as well. Delano scaled its U.S.-based manufacturing to support more consistent releases. This ensured they could meet rising demand without compromising on quality.
What began in a garage, where Peter, as an eighth-grader, built wood bats out of pure curiosity, has grown into a nationally recognized company positioned to put its technology into bats on a national scale. MTEC SmartZone is proud to support Delano Bat Company as a client and partner. As part of the SmartZone entrepreneurial ecosystem, Delano has continued to strengthen its business foundation while scaling on manufacturing, operations, and innovation. Their launch success is a clear example of what’s possible when bold ideas meet dedication, unwavering compromise, and the right resources.
Delano is already moving quickly toward its next releases in 2026. With a growing team and an undying commitment to building high-performance bats, the future looks bright. If the 90-minute sell-out is any indication, 2026 may be the year Delano Bats truly begins to disrupt the youth bat market.
